Approximately thirty students stayed after school for pizza, soda, cookies and to learn what the Jr. Optimist Club is all about.
Also, many Milwee teachers stopped by to lend their support and encourage the students to get involved in a great community service club! Thank you teachers.
2007-2008
Milwee's Jr. Optimist's Help Out During the Holidays
On Saturday, Dec. 10th, Milwee's Jr. Optimist Club gathered to distribute the
food items collected during Milwee's food drive.
They delivered these food items (about 2000) along with turkeys, fresh fruit,
pies, potatoes, and fresh baked pastries and bread to 28 families in the area.
This is the 14th year that the Optimist Club has spear-headed this community
service event.
The following Saturday, Dec. 17th, the Jr. Optimists along with Milwee's Chorus
headed up to the Anthony House in Zellwood
to sing holiday songs and give gifts to the underprivileged who lived there.
Santa and his elves distributed over 100 gifts
to the children as well as to the adults.
